About The Program
What You Will Learn In The Classroom
Medix College of Healthcare uses a modular approach to deliver the Massage Therapy Curriculum. Students will learn through various theory-based courses pertaining to anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the human body. This will give the student the theoretical background of normal structure and function, and of dysfunction. The practical-based courses will focus on the assessment and treatment procedures of various pathologies of the human body and as outlined by the profession of Massage Therapy.
The curriculum relies on two fundamental principles:
- Teach to foster an understanding of the material versus memorization of material
- Implementation of cross-curricular integration throughout the program
Students will learn to apply the knowledge obtained throughout the program,
while employing critical thinking to create appropriate assessment and treatment plans. In doing so, students will be able to properly address the conditions of their clients.
What You Will Learn In The Labs
As a mandatory component of our programs, students of the Massage Therapy program are required to complete an on-site clinical component during the duration of the program. This component is completed on-site in the massage therapy labs located within the campuses of Medix College of Healthcare. With a strong focus on medical knowledge, students will master massage skills in the student-run clinic, where they will experiment with many hands-on techniques. Students will also learn, first-hand, how to assess clients and their needs, as well as how to maintain, rehabilitate, and augment physical function to relieve pain. Students will also study massage theory and practice, while experimenting with sport massage, clinical massage, and pregnancy massage techniques.
What You Will Learn Outside of the Regular Classroom Setting
TPI-MAS helps students recognize the choices they have in life and how to control how they think to change the way they live their lives. Students will understand how the human mind works and how their beliefs and attitudes influence the present and shape the future. The program encourages students to have a positive outlook and strive for goals despite any challenges and obstacles.
The Enriched Academy program will teach you how to manage your money and build a solid financial future.
What You Will Do During Career Search
