- Pharmacy History and Legislation: Understand the history of pharmacy, federal and provincial legislation, and the role of pharmacists, technicians, and assistants within the healthcare system.
- Dispensary Operations: Learn medical and pharmaceutical terminology, how to interpret prescriptions, common abbreviations, and an introduction to various dosage forms.
- Therapeutic Classifications: Explore the different therapeutic classifications of drugs and their applications.
- Pharmacy Calculations: Master the math required for accurate medication dispensing.
- Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology: Gain a foundation in human anatomy and physiology along with the study of pharmacology.

You’ll also build professionalism and communication skills, including how to provide excellent customer service, deal with peers and dispensary staff, solve problems, handle complaints, and maintain confidentiality.
Hands-On Learning: Your 240-Hour Externship
Gain 240 hours of hands-on training in an off-site, real-world setting during your externship. You’ll learn how to use pharmacy software for entering prescriptions, printing labels, managing patient profiles, performing drug searches, and handling third-party billing. You’ll also practice dispensing medications and compounding pharmaceuticals in a well-equipped pharmacy lab, preparing you for a seamless transition into the workplace.
